For further help with the identification of a pipe thread see Maryland Metrics.and Colder Products. help pages.
In the UK, basin and sink tap connecting threads are NORMALLY 1/2"BSP (approx 21.5mm OD). Bath tap connecting threads are NORMALLY 3/4"BSP (approx 26.5mm OD). HOWEVER, monobloc (one-hole) and some specialist taps will use various sizes of connecting tails and/or compression fittings.
The accepted UK standard domestic water feed pipe sizes are 15mm OD copper tube (for basin and sink taps + mainswater feed to bath taps) and 22mm OD copper tube (for gravity-fed bath taps).
